Playing tennis in late 1630s I guess. Really quality doublet, notice how the panes overlap and the open sleeves. I wonder if he unhooked his doublet from the breeches to allow ease of movement. Not recommended shoes for running either. Interested crowd too. Wonder if he was any good? I suspect in those clothes he stood still and waited for the ball to come to him.

As illustrated by Hollar in 1643. I know we are to take Hollar’s etchings with a pinch of salt as he was a bit foreign and had poor eyesight, but there are some decent costume examples in the picture details here.
