A Letter From the King’s Majestie (1647)

….of the King’s Coming Towards London, and was Yesterday at Sion House.

That’s the title of the book, and this is the picture on the front page. I’m not sure what the lion has to do with the King, but I liked the clothes on the officer.

  1. Surely that’s no lion but a depiction of Rupert with his Poodle, Boye. Confirming that Boye was a standard not a miniature poodle! (which weren’t bred until the 19th century)
