Sir Jacob Astley

Painted during the war I assume by an anonymous artist. Jacob Astley was one of Charles I’s most trusted generals. He wears a finely figured silk damask or maybe embroidered doublet, with a high buttoned collar but a very small plain falling band. Over the doublet he has a leather buffcoat and back & breast armour
