By Dobson, recently identified by Waldemar Januszczak as two poets who fetched up in Oxford during the war. The younger man is Sir John Denham and the older John Taylor, the water poet, a former London boatman who really did have Shakespeare in his boat! Anyway, top quality doublet here with lace peeping out from his shirt at the bottom. Also good quality plain band on John Taylor’s suit.
