Sir Henry (Harry) Slingsby of Scriven (1602–1658), 1st Baronet
Painted by an unknown artist as a tribute to Sir Henry who was executed for his royalist leanings on the same day as Dr John Hewitt (see blog entry) in June 1658. Henry is pictured in sombre clothes, with a plain band and tassels. I suspect he is wearing the shirt that now hangs in Knaresbororough Castle Museum. See my other blog for details on the shirt. http://thegoodwyfe.blogspot.com/2012/02/sir-henry-slingsbys-shirt.html
